Find personal data in your ERP or CRM systems quickly and easily using Safyr metadata discovery.
KNOW WHERE YOUR ERP AND CRM SYSTEMS ARE STORING SENSITIVE PERSONAL DATA FOR DATA COMPLIANCE PROJECTS
Data privacy is not just a regulatory imperative.
Increasingly, astute customers are moving towards suppliers that treat their personal information ethically and with respect for their needs.
Locate Personal Data for PoPIA Compliance . . . Quickly and Accurately
For compliance with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (PoPIA), and international regulations such as Europe's Global Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), it’s important that you know where your ERP and CRM systems store Personal Data. This will help you to prove that you are in control of your data and data compliance obligations, and also that you can enact the requirements around an individual’s rights about their data.
Safyr and Data Privacy
Safyr® will help you to quickly and easily find personal data fields in your ERP or CRM systems, without requiring you to be an expert.
For example, using Safyr takes minutes to locate all the instances of the attribute ‘birth’ in an SAP system with over 90,000 tables. That information can then be shared with your data catalogue or data stewardship platforms.
Safyr's metadata discovery technology understands the structure of your ERP or CRM system’s data, helping you to discover hard-to-find sensitive personal data rapidly even in heavily customised ERP and CRM packages.
As well as SAP, Safyr works with Salesforce, Oracle E-Business Suite, Siebel, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft as well as Microsoft Dynamics AX.
KEY FEATURES SUPPORTING DATA PRIVACY COMPLIANCE PROGRAMS
Finding Personal Data in Your ERP and CRM systems
Say you need to find and document all instances of “birth” in your SAP system, and then share it with your data catalogue.
Using Safyr's intelligent search you can quickly find all tables and attributes containing the text string “birth”.
You can now use Safyr to filter out attributes that you do not need. They may be irrelevant or unwanted for some other reason, for example, empty fields. This means that you can focus on only those fields and tables that actually hold personal data,
Similarly, you can search for other Personal Data attributes, for example, Address, ID Number, etc. In this way, you can build up a picture of which tables hold which personal data, and share this picture with your governance tools.
Metadata Reporting
Another Safyr strength is the ability to export Subject Area content to third-party tools, such as data modelling tools, data catalogues and the like.
Safyr's metadata reporting feature allows Safyr content to be exported directly to Excel, including any filters and other metadata you may have added.
This means that you can quickly share insights gained from Safyr with your broader data governance or privacy project team.
