Founded in 2006, Master Data Management has nearly 20 years of experience in enabling large and mid-sized African organisations to unlock value by improving data integrity. 

Our passion for data integrity dates back to the late 1990s, when our founder, Gary Allemann, was a member of the team delivering Siebel CRM solutions to the South African market.  

 "Organisations were spending millions for a single view of their customer, but poor data quality meant that they often ended up with just another messy data silo.

I felt that there had to be a better way to deal with bad data so that organisations could get the value that they were paying for.

Out of that kernel, Master Data Management was born."

1:10:100 rule for data qualityPoor data integrity impacts every business process - adding hidden costs and frustrations that impact every business opportunity. A commonly accepted rule of thumb, known as the 1:10:100 rule, is that for every rand spent on ensuring data integrity upfront, it costs R10 to fix data problems after the event. 

However, if issues are left unresolved then the hidden costs due to the ripple effect can be 100s of times higher than the cost of doing things properly the first time. Typically, the same issues repeat themselves, leading to a cycle of duplicated effort and frustration.
