According to the King IV Report on Corporate Governance for South Africa 2016, the board's responsibilities for information governance include providing strategic direction, approving policy to put strategy into effect, providing informed oversight of implementation and performance, and disclosing for the purpose of reporting. The board is also tasked with the approval and overseeing of the technology and information policy of the company.
